Tracking and harvesting user data has been a business model for many tech giants. Privacy advocates have raised concerns over Google’s combing of emails, Apple’s Siri, and Facebook’s tracking cookies that keep monitoring people’s browser activity in order to personalize advertising and content.
With Windows 10 Microsoft obviously is following this business model. For example signing in with your Microsoft email account means Windows 10 is reading your emails, contacts and calendar data. The new Edge browser serves you personalized ads. Solitaire now comes with ads. Using Cortana – the voice-driven assistant that represents Redmond’s answer to Apple’s Siri – reportedly "plays fast and loose with your data."

Interestingly, I installed the Win10 preview on an old laptop. It managed to find the avatar that I use here on Austech and automatically assigned it as the Windows user sign-in picture. I don't use my avatar image anywhere but my Austech account. -I find that creepy

Recently came across this: . DoNotSpy10 is the world’s first antispy tool for Windows 10. Its straight-forward user interface allows you to manage how Windows 10 respects your privacy. DoNotSpy10 provides you with the opportunity to easily manage what you want to share and what not. While many of the settings represent what you can configure using the Settings and various other apps, there are also tweaks that are not easily accessible through the apps Windows provides.

You really don't want that answered, do you?
Are you serious???
Maybe those less "Computer literate" (Oxymoron in your case) than yourself should send you their bill for having the spyware removed, and you have the cheek to put a smiley face after it, unf#ckingbelievable.

Stolen from another forum but this might also be of concern
Microsoft recently updated its EULA for Windows 10, noting that the operating system can seek out and potentially disable any pirated software, like games, running on your PC. The new clause in question is found under section 7b of the EULA, which says that Microsoft may check your software at any time and download updates or make configuration changes. "We may automatically check your version of the software and download software updates or configuration changes, including those that prevent you from accessing the Services, playing counterfeit games, or using unauthorized hardware peripheral devices
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
Surely its not the 1st of April yet?

Can only laugh at all the fuss concerning DoNotSpy10:
True is, DoNotSpy10's installer program, 860 KB, before installing the DoNotSpy10 program itself, checks the PC's OS and configuration in order to see whether additional third-party programs can be prompted as 'recommended', too. If those 'recommendations' are found (by installer's subprogram "OpenCandy") then the future DoNotSpy10 user is invited to also install these. If future user doesn't want those (selectable) additional programs to get installed, then they will not be installed. All this will be announced in full detail the possible user in DoNotSpy10's License Agreement. Point.
Well, go ahead and install, with out installing the third party programs, guess what, when you reboot, OpenCandy has still gone and installed itself and its a pain in the arse to get rid of it, of course you can "only laugh" because that's just the way you are, all I can say is if brain cells were dynamite you wouldn't have enough in your head to blow your nose, just saying....

According to the developing company "OpenCandy" should terminate after you have finished installation of the DoNotSpy10 software program regardless of whether you accepted included third-party offers or not, unless if you have installed a third-party offer, then "OpenCandy" may run on the system afterwards for a limited period of time - it's being used to verify that the third-party offer(s) was/were activated (meaning run) before it "deletes itself automatically".
And I can confirm it: Neither on my laptop nor on my wife's laptop remained any traces of "OpenCandy".
As said "OpenCandy" should have terminated and deleted itself automatically after you have finished installation of the DoNotSpy10. If you are unsure about this, or if you notice "OpenCandy" is still on your system or just want it removed immediately after you notice files of the "OpenCandy" service are on your system, then you always can run the "OpenCandy Cleanup Tool" provided by the developing company. You can download the latest version of this utility .
May I suggest that instead of replying crap, you actually reply in a relevant and appropriate manner?

Interestingly enough, I have installed "do not spy" and have found no traces of "open candy" on my machine....yet. Will do a more thorough scan when time permits.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
