Default Malware hit, BIG TIME !!!

I downloaded a version of VLC and got hit with some Malware programs and I got rid of a couple but I cannot get rid of these 2, istartsurf and Jungle net.

I am using Mozilla Firefox and found Jungle Net listed in the Menu - Add Ons - Extension and deleted it but its still popping up but I cannot find istartsurf, any help please?
I searched in Programs and dleted what I thought were that but no joy.
I have seen several programs claiming to delete istartsurf but I am not game enough to try them in case they too are fakes.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

Sorry cant help but got caught out with something similar on a vista machine, very frustrating trying to get rid of. ended up loading win7 as i thought it was time for a upgrade. I now pay attention when installing software because often, a software installer includes optional installs that are preselected. Be very careful what you agree to install.
Always opt for the custom installation and deselect anything that is not familiar, especially optional software that you never wanted to download and install in the first place.
    Maybe uninstall Firefox & reinstall.

Yes, beware of stuff downloaded from Sourceforge now as they're adding crap to the installers.

I am usually very careful when doing any downloads by reading the options it wants you to have but I didnt this time and paid the penalty because I have had VLC before and never had a problem either with it or it 'bundling' crap by the barrow load into the computer.
I may have been successful as neither has appeared when I restarted the computer so fingers crossed.
