    Default Last Cab to Darwin

Went to see this Movie Sunday night.
Mainly an older crowd in the Cinema (probably because the young generation just download it).

Good Movie about a story that needs explaining.
Its confronting, especially if you have had to deal with these situations.
    I'd give the movie a 7.5/10
A good watch if you want to see some Australia's outback
Classic Australian cast with some very typical Pub Scenes.
Michael Caton has a stella performance, he just nails it, bloody talented man.
His best Movie since The Castle i'd say.

Director Jeremy Sims has impressed me, he has come a long way from his B Grade acting days

Good preview video in this article

Thanks OB, Must look that one up. Eldest son spent the day in parliament the day they introduced the right to die legislation in the NT. He did a report as part of his year 12 finals. Personally, I'd not advocate medically assisted suicide, but that is because it is contrary to my religious beliefs, however, if you do not subscribe to my faith, who am I to deny you the right to choose the manner, and timing of your demise.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

Yes, its always a hot topic whenever it is brought up.
The Movie depicts it with the correct intention.
Its an option for people that are between a Rock and Hard Place, in other words, the Medical World has done their best, now its time to go home and die.

I think the Movie shows a nice balance between a persons wishes and effects on those around him or her.
Personally, i am for it, as currently, the "job" usually ends up in the hands of other family members, of which they then have to live with.

I've actually had Dr Nitchske to our home to to treat my wife on several occasions and he is a very caring, and compassionate doctor. Wether you agree with his views, or not, there is certainly no malice in his intent.

The NT euthanasia laws were subsequently overturned by the Howard government, were they not?

Correct, as the federal govt could only do that to it's territories, which did not go down well for "the locals" who felt that the feds were interfering in their "sovereign right". Had one of the states passed the law, there would have been nothing that the feds could have done without a constitutional change.
