    Default The ridiculous wedding

Good to see our councils being hijacked by cashed up migrant property developers. Get in to council, change planning laws, become richer.

Move your cars or I will have them towed. What are we letting in our doors these days ?

Yeah was a talking point this weekend at my place.

More about how wog weddings were being out done by Arab weddings these days......1 million was the figure i heard over the weekend......

For those who dont know how the deal works, you gotta spend more than those others in your ethnic community to be looked up at.

Nah, i got registered, i actually spent my wedding money on ourselves to buy a house......while those we knew that had spent on a big wedding found themselves getting a divorce later on.......

I watched this story on a current affair tonight.

Apparently the grooms father was just released from prison after serving a 3 year sentence for defrauding the NAB bank out of $3 million dollars.

One senior cop who was sent to manage traffic in the street said that the police will be forwarding the costs of traffic management to the wedding party. Somehow I think that this 'extra' expense would of been already
factored in by the wedding organisers. The grooms excuse was that he didn't plan for that many cars, motorbikes and people to attend the wedding. Pull the other one!

Being the type he is, he will probably dispute the bill in court and get away with it, try proving they were all his invited wedding guests.

My son watched one of the clips tonight (we were pissing ourselves laughing) and he pointed out all the exotic cars used were not his, they were all Queen Street customs rentals, another mob known to police for pulling quick ones.

Sounds like a lot of smoke and mirrors that will end up somehow becoming a business tax deduction with dodgy receipts.

Far out, was there a TV channel that didn't cover it last night!?!?!
Why are these TV outlets giving these types oxygen in the first place??
Every show was saying how outrageous it was, yet they were there, filming, had interviewers on site and splashing it all on primetime TV.

Thank god for YouTube when shit like this gets forced down our throats.

As for "Mr. Teflon", he needs a page out of Bronwyn Bishops Handbook.

Unfortunately local councils everywhere are being hijacked by people and groups running their own agendas. This clown is just another example and probably another reason why local councils should be abolished with state governments taking over their duties.

It would make one less layer of bureaucracy and probably save us all money in the long run.

Whist the concept of removing a layer of bureaucracy has merits, admin, the problem is that those in smaller communities will miss out. Politics of any variety seeks to benefit those who vote for them. Unfortunately, there are more votes in inner Sydney than Oodnadatta.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

The replacement for existing Councils should be based on a pure business model. No Politics.

The Administrator is there to get the job done. A precise list of tasks ( rubbish, roads, sports fields etc ) and a fixed income to do it with.

Yes the Administrator should face Local Appointment by ratepayers and work on a fixed term contract similar to Council Elections.

Nah you got it all wrong Gordon.

Become a property developer, then become deputy mayor, get your planning permits approved by those under you, and you too can build a 3 storey house like he did in a area with a 2 story limit.

I heard his next step was to try to get into politics......hang on we have enough of those types there already.

I find it amazing that he threatened to tow any cars left parked in the street. We often hear of problem cars abandoned in narrow residential streets and so on - and the authorities claim that as long as the car remains registered, they are unable to touch the car. If I lived there, I'd have been very tempted to park an old bomb out the front of my house and train a camera on it - just to spite the arrogant sod.

There was a rather amusing thread on a car forum a while back about a guy who deliberately parked a registered old bomb outside an ex employer's car yard just to annoy them. The story had quite a few twists and turns, but basically, there was nothing the business could do about it.

he is a bogan shonky bastard

have a read here , he is building some units and sold x amount and
now is making the units smaller so he can fit more in and not give people
who bought any compensation. One couple have lost over 30% of the original
size they bought of the plan.

One couple who paid a deposit on their $600,000-plus apartment in May have seen their 150 square meter home reduced to 94 square meters.

    Man, that's Australia's shonkiest D/H loser.

I wonder how long till his new bride wakes up and cleans him out....give it time.....

Edit; I think he is his own worst enemy, ill bet all this publicity he has craved is going to bite him now, watch for new court cases from those who bought appartments, any insurance jobs will be scrutinized more than usual (he already had one place burn to the ground after his building plans were blocked from outside the council), all his book work will be questioned by the Tax office and all future council moves in his favor are now blown out the window.

I wonder if the council is going to kick him out now the truth has emerged?

I agree with Shred that so long as a vehicle is registered, it stays where it is and unless they have updated the Laws, neither the Council or the Police can remove a 'vehicle' from its location without proper authority UNLESS its sign posted as they do on 'Clearways'.
He's a total flip but doing what he did has nothing I can see to do with his position with the Council unless he is charged and convicted of breaking some Law and that conviction removes him from holding an elected position.
On my Council are two members who delight in being PIA's with one having been warned, suspended for various breaches by the Minister of Local Government and he's still there carrying on so this fellow is an angel compared to ours here.

While I hate saying this, it was up to the purchasers of those Units to read their contracts which of course no one ever does and he is sharp enough to have seen a way of legally diddling people with the way it was worded.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

I think that police can move cars without question but only in emergency situations, such as the vehicle may pose a risk to others.

    (Such as a Lebanese wedding)

Well...the Auburn Deputy Mayor won't be doing that again after this severe punishment: $220 ,

It warms my heart when you see true justice in Australia....bloody hell!
