Default Windows 10 accelerates SSDs in almost all disciplines

Solid State Disks, short SSDs have meanwhile found acceptance on a broad front. No other product can boast a better ratio between financial expenditure and profit performance in the upgrade of the PC. How does Windows 10 with SSDs, how is the performance compared to its predecessor Windows Vista, 7, and 8? This was investigated by Flexense on four identical hardware systems.

The really little surprising result: The performance of the SSD increases in the order of appearance of the individual systems. Considering system performance when copying or deleting files Windows Vista is the slowest and Windows 10 is the fastest.

Also interesting: In Windows 10 the copying of many small files is about 116% faster than in Windows 8, compared to Windows 7 the advantage only is minimal. When copying large files, it is exactly the opposite: Here Windows 10 is 120% faster than Windows 7, compared to Windows 8 there is only a slight performance gain.

    Full test report:

Thus, if your computer is equipped with an SSD, it probably makes sense to upgrade to Windows 10 if not already done yet.

A new, more efficient OS is better with SSD and that is 'surprising'...? Not really the word I'd use, more like'obvious'. Now if there was no increase in performance that would be surprising.

    cpu?
    ram?
    motherboard?
    a pentium 3 with 256 ram on xp with a ssd v a quad core with 8gb ram & a 7200rpm sata drive?
you need to be a bit more specific with your conclusions rather than copy & paste stuff you read on the net

And you should carefully read my posts rather than re-post crap: As said, 4 PCs with identical hardware were used, hence their specifications aren't of any interest at all, IMO.

Did you even read the article posted?

    Test Server Configuration:
    4-Core Intel CPU
    16 GB of system memory
SSD disk for the operating system
SSD disk for disk performance tests
    Intel Gigabit Ethernet network card

Specific enough for you? You need to read posts properly before jumping to conclusions...

And there YOU go dribbling crap yourself, it was one PC not 4, read your own fvcking link SFB.

    Test Server Configuration

    • 4-Core Intel CPU
    • 16 GB of system memory
    • SSD disk for the operating system
    • SSD disk for disk performance tests
    • Intel Gigabit Ethernet network card

    Tested Operating Systems

    • Windows 10 64-Bit
    • Windows 8 64-Bit
    • Windows 7 64-Bit
    • Windows Vista 64-Bit

In order to measure the disk performance of Windows 10 and compare it to the performance of Windows 8, Windows 7 and Windows Vista, we have tested all the four operating systems on the same hardware platform and performed the following tests:
    • Small Files Copy Performance Test
    • Medium-Sized Files Copy Performance Test
    • Large Files Copy Performance Test
    • Disk Space Analysis Performance Test
    • File Classification Performance Test
    • Duplicate Files Search Performance Test
    • File Search Performance Test
    • File Delete Performance Test

For me, the unit of hardware & firmware & OS makes 1 computer. Because 4 different Windows editions were tested, it were for me 4 computers.
Of course you can disagree with this view of things, but that does not change my POV. Point.

    BTW:

You at no time were addressed.
PhilQuad should be enough skilled to respond himself if he feels offended or whatever. But probably he needs someone like you. It seems to me that you act as his babysitter.

Ah, yes. Hence my comment that it not a surprising result. You must obviously think otherwise, and I'd be keen for you to explain.

Your on a forum twerp, if you don't want others to reply or comment to your posts then PM the person you do want to reply, and don't post anything.

And what's more there have been plenty of my posts you have replied to where "You at no time were addressed", but we are well aware of how hypocritical you can be.

No your quite correct peteramjet, my apologies, I had a head of steam up from the other dope posting and misread yours, I can only plead temporary fogged up glasses as my defence.
