    Default I'm getting married!

Hi guys. Haven't been on much lately. You're probably wondering what the hell happened to Learjet. Or not. I've become addicted to Facebook. Oops.

Have a bit of news. Found a girlfriend and asked her to marry me. She said yes! Thought I'd let you guys that know me from the good old days know.

Thanks nomeat! She actually doesn't mind snakes, but is terrified of spiders! Dunno about baked snake though. Yes it will be good to grow old together and look after each other. Apart from migraines, my health lately has been pretty good. She has been very understanding of my health problems which is one of the many reasons why she is a keeper!

As to why I'm going down the track of marriage rather than just living together, well... as an atheist, I feel no religious obligation to please some mythical being in the sky. I do it purely as a romantic gesture, a ceremony to show my love for her. I never knew I was a romantic person until I met her. The things we learn about ourselves when in love.

You love struck puppy....I sincerely hope it all works out. Oh, I'm an avid atheist, but been married for...for....shit! over 30 years....so I wish you all the best..

Had grandkid No. 10 yesterday, so religion has NOTHING to do with it...I wish you all the happiness in the world.

Do you realize there is a Mental Health Line that can help you. Marriage is a treatable disease.

Having said that, its 40 Years in December for me.
Two boys and they have avoided marriage so far.

congrats also LJ, hope it works out well for you.

On a lighter note, insist that they put an expiry date on your marriage cerificate. Over the 27 years its a question I often asked my other half.

    Congrats mate.
34 years for me also & a devout atheist.

Expiry date, hmm, now there's a thought; I should check.
    Cheers, Tiny

Having a Partner to share your life with is one of the greatest things we humans can do.
I have always said I regret in one way not to have married earlier (aged 26) but then as there is 7 years between us, the timing was right.
I am now getting close to having been Married (45 years) double the time I was single and except for a few hiccups, mostly (99%) were of my own making, marrying Her was the best thing I have ever done.

As an aside, I have found now I dont look anymore for an Expiry Date because I look at what I have, how I lived and think 'Who in their right mind would take me on' and the thought of being alone, is not one I welcome.
My Heartiest Congratulations and Best Wishes to you both for a long and happy life together.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
