Default Vista and XP programs compatability

My daughter bought a pc unit with Vista installed.

Can she still play XP programmes on her Vista?

I only have xp, and would like to give her some of my software if it will run on her vista

    Thanks all....

I messed around with a copy of Vista 64 bit for a while on my HTPC, the only thing that couldn't be cured with the compatability wizards are codecs for playing back video and music ( they must be 64 bit compatible) and drivers. I didn't get any programmes that crashed, unless there was a compatability issue with video in particular. So give them a shot, most should work pretty well.

I think she will be fine, i made the move to vista 64 bit and everything works.

Vista will put all programs that are not 64 bit/ compatable in c\program files (86) i have quite a few and they all work.
