Default Beware of "new" xbox 360 datecode 2006, they might be refurbs

Just had a customer bring in a BRAND NEW, sealed with all the seals in tact xbox 360 with a 11-2006 date code on it....she went and bought it after her first box dated may 2008 had lite on drive.

Anyways the first thing I noticed when i unpacked it is that that instead of having a silver warranty sticker it had a refurb sticker on it. Opened it up and it has a liteon drive in it

Well customer not very happy, so we rang around and found some others...all brand new all date coded 2006, a bit sus hey...anyways we will see if they are refurbs as well.

Unit was bought from dick smith.

I can’t see MS doing that, I’ll be talking to the person you got it from maybe someone has replaced it and resealed the package, it’s not hard to do

I know a sealed box when I see one, the seal on the packaging is harder to get off then the seal on the case itself. That said the following scenario is highly probable

Someone had their box refurbished, discovered it had a lite on in it, then went and bought one from dick smith brand new...then opened it REALLY carefully, swaped the consoles then took the box back to dick smith and got a refund, dick smith then put it back into stock.
