    Question Samsung LA40B550K1MXRD Flickering

Hey people, Someone I know has a TV that flickers a few minutes after turn on. This actually looks like lightning flashing. They expect me to solve this mystery. Some research brings up a service bulletin for other models of cutting a link (JP852) on PSU. Can anyone confirm this and the actual link number for this model. Thanks

A better way to describe it is Strobe light effect.

I would log the power rails with a multi-meter during the fault and see what they are doing and then work from there.

Failing that, disassemble the TV, and then reassemble and see if fault disappears. Fretting and galvanic corrosion is a big problem with connectors inside cheap electronics and the old "disconnect, blow on connector, and plug back in" trick that help deck support techs get users to do over the phone can fix most faults like this.

Failing that, start reflowing !, starting with the high voltage circuitry, and any parts of the board that look discoloured from heat and power cycling.

Other than that, without seeing the TV myself or looking at the schematics, I can't offer any more help.
