Default Police throw sign at Motorcyclist, hitting him in the head

Well well well, look what you find when there is a camera around.
I'd love to see the case if the Motorcyclist fell off and became Wheelchair bound for the rest of his life.
Of course, Police would say his speed was a contributing factor, not that fact an officer threw a sign in his face!

I wonder what kinds of antics this Officer has done for the rest of his career?
Seems throwing a sign at Motorist is nothing to him.

Looks more like a booking sheets book, more so than a actual sign to me.

I can just see the claim, saw a officer throw a book at me to assault me without warning, in shock and fearing for my life, i took off due to being assaulted out of the blue by the police officer......

Hope he has a good lawyer......but he will get done for speeding, that camera footage is enough to calculate distance over time.

looked like a clip board to me, and its quiet obvious the idiot on the bike was trying to evade police anyway, we had a dickhead learner caught speeding on his bike earlier this week clocked at 177k's when restricted to only 80 ks, I hope they throw the whole book at him, arseholes like him give us bikers a bad reputation

Doesn't even look like the item (whatever it is) is thrown - more like the cyclist rides straight into it. D@ckhead on the bike was more likely trying to get away and was going too fast to stop. The title of the video should more accurately read "Shocking footage: Idiot motorcyclist endangers pubic"

It's the Stop Police sign they hold out for breath tests, standard practice in NSW if you don't stop the throw the sign at the vehicle, normally its a car windscreen though not a motorcycle

I hope that cop gets charged with some serious offences, in my eyes that's no different to idiots throwing rocks off freeway overpasses.

The cop wasn't in fear for his life as he actually stepped out to throw whatever it was, and he couldn't have any expectation that his actions would cause the rider to stop otherwise he simply would've tried to flag him down, so it was done completely out of malice and with the intent to cause an accident, which at that speed could well have been fatal.

Just a stupid thing to do and if anyone else did it they'd be arrested on the spot and dragged up before the beak, but I have no doubt that this cop will simply get a pat on the back for being some kind of hero.

    One rule for some...

He should have taken a few more steps forward before throwing.....and then claimed the biker tried to run him over. (As would be the norm)

I dont understand how they can throw anything, they should have just allowed the rider to dig his own grave and given chase.

I know quite a few local bike riders, yet to hear a story where someone didn't do a runner (all except 1 and he regrets NOT running after what he went through)......as always i hear the police don't bother giving chase, not a hope in hell of catching a superbike......

I actually think that that nasty motorcyclist knocked a sign from the hands of a police man as he tried to replace it for the safe driving experience of other road users!!!!!

    LOL well said.

I was told by my son a few minutes ago that our friend that did pull over for Hwy patrol on his bike was on Channel 7's Hwy Patrol a few nights ago...apparently you could see our GTR drive past VERY slowly (and quietly) while it was being filmed by the channel 7 crew, it was a old episode from a few years ago.

From memory he lost his license for quite a while too.

    Exactly!

Its actually in times like these, where there is Video Evidence available sometimes, that you have a change of defending yourself against what the Police would otherwise concoct as a story protect themselves and their actions.
I am in no way defending the motorcyclist for his actions, but to have a member of the law, throw an object at a motorcyclist, while in control of a vehicle, its just wrong on so many levels.

I'd like to see how it would be the other way around, a person on the street throws an object, hitting a police motorcyclist on the head.

the motorcyclist speeding is the greater danger here , not the velocity of the thrown object.

This is true. Anyway, he's lucky. In America they would have assumed he was black and thrown a dozen 9mms at him.

Could you imagine if he fell off and was killed. THE POLICE UNION WOULD BE IN OVERDRIVE PROTECTING THE COP. oooOOOH YEAH THE COPS WOULD BE BULLING THE NEIGHBOURS THAT SAW THE INCIDENT OR NEIGHBOURS THAT HAVE THEIR OWN CAMERA CAMERA SYSTEMS. Its funny how they bend or break their own laws when it suits them

Its a bad thing all round.

The rider is endangering everyone by blatantly breaking the law. I don't think throwing a book at his head is too flash either. I also can't understand why there isn't a police pursuit vehicle down the road waiting for a clown like this . It seems to me that it took the cops WAY too long to respond.

Point is.... People Speed every day.
Its happened for years... it will happen for years.
They had his plates, they had a visual.
I can no doubt understand this cops utter frustration and the thoughts in his head.
But lobbing things at the rider is hardling upholding the law.
    Or setting a good example.

If he had enough time in the job, he would have developed a thicker skin to muppets speeding through Police Blocks.

I suppose..until a cop gets killed of course.

There's nothing in that incident that reflects well on anybody IMO.

Two wheels might move the soul oceanboy, but its four wheels that move the body afterward.
