Default 10 month old Baby's 'Horrendous Injuries' say Police.

    Sydney:
At the moment all that has been said is a 23 yr old Man is 'assisting Police with their inquires' as to how a 10 month old Baby has been scalded with boiling water causing burns to 40% of its body and is currently in an induced Coma in Hospital.
From reports the Man has been in a relationship with the Baby's Mother for several months but is not the child Father.

Apparently he put the baby under the hot shower and went for a smoke.

Today H/W systems, Baths and Showers are mandated to be set at 65C which is hot but shouldnt scald but no-one in their right mind would put and LEAVE a 10 MONTH old in water alone for even a minute..................

I wasnt going to say it before but if this is indeed an excuse offered to explain what happened to the Baby, if he is charged, although Jails arent the safest places, I think he would be well advised NOT to seek Bail.

Apparently in the ACT its now 50. I have to get a new system soon and will be pissed off its not 65 anymore. 65 is a useful temperature for a few things cooking related.

I think he would be wise to seek the death penalty, because, regardless of his excuse, his life will be not worth living anywhere inside, or outside.

Sadly yes...its a legal system, not a justice system.

Just another example of how fractured and irresponsible our societies have become under the control of the insane politically correct nanny state.

His excuse of leaving the poor kid in a shower then going to charge his phone and have a smoke reeks of bullshit.

    The child also had bruises.

"We understand some of the injuries relate to burning of the skin [of] 40 per cent of the child's body and there are other injuries there that seem to be consistent with blunt force trauma'

    Plus his history:
    "
Court documents revealed 10 offences in the past five years, including common assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, recklessly causing grievous bodily harm and affray."

I'm sure the legal system and the welfare system will do everything they can to see he gets nothing but a wrist slap and gets EVERY opportunity to be reformed.....again.

TEN convicted (and who knows how many not convicted) offences against people in 5 years and they still let him walk free....as you say, it sure ain't a Justice System.

As this piece of crap is only 23 the convictions only start from when he was 18 and classed as an adult. I would love to see his juvenile record but of course that is kept secret so we will never know.

Personally, and it would require a few pollies to grow some balls, we need a legislation change, where, once convicted as an adult, his Juvie record becomes public property, too.

    Hi all,

What's the chances he gets the same as the turd who raped his 5 year old cousin in Mt Druit ???

He was under the influence of drugs at the time -- 6 months suspended sentence and 1 years good behaviour.

Sometimes you have to wonder about justice and legality ?????

We don't have a justice system, what we have is a profit growth system for the legal profession. If we had a proper justice system, crime would be getting less, but locking people up or rehabilitating them properly, means the legal profession would lose work. So they prop it all up by disenfranchising the public by using legalese, which no one but the legal profession understands and they use technicalities written in by the legal profession. This lengthens the justice process and ensures they have more work, so they can return to courts over and over, yet never give anyone but the rich justice.

They are very lenient, because they know they will have repeat costs as the perpetrator will return to crime, which only increases the legal progressions bank balances and never never provides justice for the innocent or victims.

What we need is an on line justice system, using plain Aussie language, no technicalities and the people being judge and jury. It would save billions a year and people would get real justice by the people and not a bunch of elitist cranks.
