    Default 11v for 7.2v

    silly Q
me & my mate want 2 rc boats to play with on holidays in the lake
gearbest.com seem to have sic 11.2 volt jobs for $100
but i doubt they will get here in time
170 on fleabay so next is 7.2 volters for about $50
what happens if i cheat & use a 11v battery & his got the 7.2?
i know it asking for burnout motor but should work for a bit?

I suggest you will gain that knowledge from experimentation

That voltage increase means about double in power under load.
So it will be surely faster but you might not win the race unless it is a very short one.

Phil!! we've done this before; similar question.

    Cheating will cost you??

Could last a month or a minute, you a gambler?

but this is water cooled tiny, der, its a boat, the other was a car
    jkn
wheres this magic sponsor gearbest? hell website,no one home?

    &

what about a boat with 2 motors compared to 1 ?
the $50 7.2v jobs have both
the 1 with 2 motors has no rudder, so i guess its motor steering

yeah I'd guess the 2 motor no rudder steers by varying individual motor speed.

To the boat battery issue; still no joy, 11.1v into 7.2v gives in most cases misery. Your money your choice.

I can tell you roughly what will happen if it uses brushed motors (and for that price I would hardly expect brushless):
The brushes will most likely burnout in less than 90 accumulated seconds of use under full speed load in the water.

I have done far worse that that. I tried a 24V 725W Evinrude electric out board on 36V battery and made exciting waves for 60 seconds with my 6m self built wooden displacement boat. Luckily the brushes were replacable, but a big job to get apart. That was about 20 years ago.

Also for that price don't expect actual speed controllers.
It could be always full speed forwards and reverse, so you can't cheat by runnning it in half throttle.
Steering is either just one motor on or one motor fwd and the other rev for tighter curve.
...but the brushes WILL burn out !

Brushless motor will survive if it runs only short (1-2minutes maybe) and you give it time to cool down.
Brushless have three wires (three phase AC), brushed motors only two.
There are brushless motors that have the control electonic built in and then only have two wires but I have never seen them in RC models.
They are more common in pumps and fans.

    yea i know
were sticking with the 7.4v 700mah little 30 cm boats
    & 2 spare batts
    its just for fun
can get 2000mah battery but connectors are differ
still drama of modding the controller, 2 chop sticks & sum super glue should do it
