run a speed test
Guys, so this (usual download speed 500kbps reduce to 300kbps or less than that)happened after I actually reset the NETGEAR n300 router, the router firmware has been upgraded as well found out the new release upgrade. the encryption is set to wpa2 aes mode up to 300Mbps, don't think it has a different setting before router reset but it might. any idea of what could reduce the speed or what else can I configure to make it faster. also the speed and ping are very unstable.
*IPv6 turns to no Internet access frequently. at this point my asus laptop can take thousand years to load a page but no issue on other devices like ipad and android phone.

how do the speeds compare to others listed on the results with your isp
what isp
i just went through the same thing and after a number of disagreements with my isp they finally did something about it and fixed it to a certain degree
its 100% to 97% slower.
I don't think this has anything to do with isp.
more convinced that the configuration of my laptop and the router cause such problem since other devices are working fine.
if you are connected by wireless try a cable connection
shouldnt he be on ipv4 ?
i disconnect\reconnect my modem often, if its not getting 900kbs, mostly fixes it
use lan cable if possibe as said
with telstra, you can adjust your latency settings online,
