Miller happy with progress.
CWM-LCR Hondas Jack Miller was happy with the big step forward he and his crew have made during their first outing of the 2015 season, improving his lap time by well over a second from yesterday. The Australian today finally started to put some laps in using a bigger range of the electronics available to him this season, as the team gradually introduce him to the RC213V-RS.
As is normal in Malaysia, track conditions were best in the first hour after the circuit opened at 10am, after which the effects of direct sunshine and heat means it is almost impossible to set a fast lap. As if to demonstrate that fact, factory Honda rider Marc Marquez set the fastest-ever lap of the 3.444 mile layout on just the eighth of his 52 laps (158.867).
Like Marquez, Miller was also able to make the most of the cooler climate in the morning, as he set his best lap of 201.895 on the third of his 50 laps of the track. This compared to a 203.083 on day two, and 202.807 from the first day.
The CWM-LCR Honda team now return to Europe to work on their findings from this test, before heading back out to Malaysia for a four-day session later this month starting February 23rd.
Miller commented, Today we improved our pace in the morning, managing to put in a different tyre at the right time and we improved our lap time by a second. Everyone else improved too, but we are making steps forward.
We made some real progress, particularly in the last three runs out on the track, when we started to work with the electronics including the traction control and anti-wheelie settings. It was good, so Im really looking forward to the next test and working some more on the electronics and aids to make the lap times come that little bit easier.
For now though, Im happy. Its been a positive test for me and the crew. Ive picked up lots more experience with the Bridgestone tyres and I think that it will get even better for the next test here.
Cheers, Tiny

Thanks Tiny, i was hoping someone was going to start a Moto GP thread
The public can attend this test meeting cant they?
Interesting time for Jack, would be a lot of adjusting for him with the extra weight. I was actually hoping/expecting him to be a couple a places higher up.

While on the subject of all things Yoda, would be nice to know what Casey Stoners test times were last week!

Anyone know of a free version of the MotoGP Live Experience?
Not that $30AUD is too much to ask, just wondering if there has ever been a free way to watch these sources
Same with F1 Timing to i guess.
Looks like it will work with the Android M8 player too, great for the big screen
EDIT: I know there are many .apk files of MotoGP Live Experience, i was more wondering if they work, or do you still need a log in etc?

Are Channel 10 showing all rounds this year or are they banging the same crap as the v8's and F1 by only showing limited rounds.
jack miller has gone from 50hp to 250hp. There's going to be a bit of a settling in time. Stoner didn't win a world championship in his first season.
Go the Ducatis.

Yep, after watching Jack Millers "motocross style" late brake and slide cornering on the tiny 250cc machine up the inside to pass people, i am going to piss myself laughing if he starts trying he same thing on the 1litre bike.
No doubt he will be giving a try As it is very much the Modern way..... But Jack could do it on the 250 like nobody!

Although they both ride for CWM LCR Honda, Cal's bike is different to Jack's isn't it??
I seem to remember reading about it somewhere
In hindsight I should have posted my Facebook status as: "I've blown the head gasket on my 1997 XR3i" rather than "I've just buggered a 14 year old escort".
The police still haven't seen the funny side, my lap top's been confiscated and the wife has gone off to her mum's.
I think you're right there, they mention in this latest release about testing that Jack's bike is Open Spec.
Crutchlow scorches to 3rd fastest in Testing
The day began in typical fashion at the scorching 3.444 mile circuit, with all riders heading quickly out onto the track at 10am to take advantage of the coolest part of the day. Cal Crutchlow was one of those firing in fast lap times from the off, topping the timesheets early on, and eventually setting a stunning personal best of 159.658, making him the third fastest rider of this weeks test.
Satisfied with the work done on the softer rubber, the British rider then set about working on the bikes set-up in race trim, aiming to put in a long stint on the harder option tyres. However a slight issue with the braking system meant that he was forced to abandon his full-race plan for safety reasons, but he was nonetheless happy with the consistent progress made this week.
Jack Miller set his best lap of the week today, putting in an impressive 201.593 before focusing on race set-up once more on his Open spec Honda RC213V-RS.
Cal Crutchlow #35, 3rd (159.658, lap 6 of 58)
For a track that I dislike, thats my fastest ever lap around here by nearly eight-tenths of a second. I felt good and comfortable on the bike, and its not a bad lap considering the conditions of the circuit today.
Im happy enough with how things are, but I still need to improve my riding style. The corner speed isnt too bad, but although straight line braking is good, the other riders can take more risks than me in the moments just after. Thats a confidence thing though, and as the exit from the corners isnt too bad I still think there is more to come.
In my earlier race simulation we didnt have any braking power with the bike - exactly the same problem as Marc Marquez had earlier this week. As I have said we have been struggling with corner entry as it was, but I was still really riding well in my long run, it felt quite good but I was losing a second maybe on some laps just from being unable to stop with the brakes.
Jack Miller #43, 22nd (201.593, lap 9 of 40)
Im really happy with how the test has gone and I have worked hard on the bike but also on myself in order to get more comfortable as the laps go on. Were not too far off. Im the second of the rookie riders out there so that makes me happy because there are some other more experienced guys that have been used to bigger bikes behind me, so its good to be where we are."
Of course, were still not quite as fast as we would like to be, but everybodys putting out some really quick times my team-mate Cal did a scorcher this morning so its not easy at the moment, but its good to feel like were making progress."
For now Im reasonably pleased overall, but I will admit that Im looking forward to the next test in Qatar, which is a track thats a different style and a bit more flowing. It will be good to get there and try out another circuit on this bike.
