    Default Nokia 6220 GPS

    I just wanted to know is the navigation feature on the nokia 6220 free. i have a nokia navigator and the gps and navigate to on it are free is it the same case with the 6220?or is it simmilar to the N95 where you have to pay to use the navigation feature?

    Yes it's free, unless you want to use voice navigation with Nokia Maps ... there is a hacked version around to fix that though.

    Also make sure you turn off assisted gps.

    Why does every body say turn off assisted GPS. I have checked my prepaid account on many occasions and the charge has never been more than one cent.

    With A-GPS turned off it can take minutes to lock on, with A-GPS turned on it only takes a matter of seconds. Surely you can afford one cent, and not sit there waiting waiting.

    I have attached a small snippet of my prepaid bill confirming the above. These entry's are from when I was testing BinPDA's GPSd for TomTom 6.02 using internal GPS

    Some people worry about excessive data bills ... turning it off is a safeguard for them.

    I have no problems getting a fix with A-GPS turned off it only takes a matter of seconds .... If I need it I'll turn it on.
