I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
Like a Connection Fee, set up fee, administration fee, compile a bill fee, send the bill fee, payment acceptance fee and a fee because we fill like charging one and another fee to cover anything we have forgotten to charge a fee for...........

thanks guys, the excuse i heard from lebara is that they throw in automatic top up, once balance is below $5, my credit card got charged to top up to another $30.... I DO NOT GET IT
I use Telstra prepaid $30PM incl $250 of calls & texts and unlimited calls & texts to any Australian number (any network) between 6pm and 6am.
No nasty surprises.
i took the premium 12 month sub from lebara last January for $300 international national calls 2g data a month been no extra charges renewal comes at $50 per month

my understanding was, if i pay $30 per month, i can have unlimited call.text in this country, maybe i am too stupid to understand their terms and conditions
you understand correctly
Without seeing the terms and conditions, most 'unlimited' plans have conditions attached.
Eg: the prepaid plan I mentioned is only unlimited between certain hours, others often say 'unlimited' within reasonable limits, etc, etc.
There's a fair bet there will be something in the T & C's of your plan.

With some of these so called 'Unlimited Plans' is the term called 'Fair Usage' which if they see fit, means at any given time they can decide you have 'had your fair share of "Unlimited'' and its not available until the next billing cycle'.
To you and me, the term 'UNLIMITED' means that you can use the phone 24/7 but unfortunately the Provider uses a different dictionary.
Some also offer so much Text/Talk plus so much Data but they dont make it too clear, that if you use all of one like Text, then the Data is gone too.
Every Provider is in the Business to make a profit and you dont make that by giving anything away, EVER !!!
One trick I heard was to offer you a $100 worth of calls, but what they didnt say was exactly how this was calculated when making a call nor any 'connection' fees involved when making a call.

different dictionary ? that will answer my question, will put this one to TIO and see what they say
How about the word 'FREE' as used by Telstra?
At the moment their offering 'FREE WiFi' but I strongly suggest you read the fine print because its my understanding, to use this service YOU must be a Telstra/Big Pond customer and have a Data Plan with them which is what you use when you access this so called 'FREE WiFi'.
For years Telstra advertised its Mobile Network covered 98% of Australia but eventually had to reword that to '98% of the POPULATION', a BIG difference...........

That is true, it cost exactly double the amount of the OP's thread title.

I use amysim, 12c txt, 12c minute calls when at home, as we have FW internet. When traveling 2g and unlimited txt calls, $29, 5g $39 and 8g$49. The big wigs offer x$ free calls, but when you check out what the plan costs per minute, you soon see you may be getting ripped off.
I've been with Amaysim for years now and have so far found them to be excellent.
