Question Hi, from Western Australia. Need some mimi mac help

Hi, I joined this forum in the hope someone could help me to work out how to connect my mimi mac, with the Yosemite operating system, with my husbands mimi mac, that still has the Snow Leopard operating system on it, he doesn't want to change his operating system, he likes Snow Leopard.
I use to run Snow Leopard, but upgraded so I could use a few program that wouldn't run under Snow Leopard. Before the upgrade, the computers connected fine, but since then, neither of us, with all our many years of amateur computer knowledge, can not get them connected, & we have searched the net for months now,& nothing has worked.

All we have found out is, that Apple has changed some programming, to do with networking, in Yosemite, but the solutions have not been clear enough for us.

If anyone can give me a clear & easy to follow, & may by with some pics, to help fix it, I would be very grateful

I have a screen shot of the info, every time I try to connect to my husbands computer. We have check all this soooooooo many times, with no results, & nothing had changed in the settings or network, from when I upgraded, anyway.

    Hey there 50sgragonlady

it looks like you are trying to connect to a static ip address that isn't part of your network

    try this -

and make sure your cat5 cable is plugged in

    goodluck

    Welcome to Austech, 50sgragonlady.

As this section is only for introductions, please post your question in the appropriate area, which in this case, is Networking.

    Thanks.

No problems, I'll re-ask in Networking.

One other question, & I don't know where to put this, but how do I fix a type-O on my user name? Or do I need to join again?

Lemme guess... you meant your user name to read 50sdragonlady?

Tell me what you want it to read and I'll fix it for you.

I've taken the question to Networking now.
Just to do a proper intro. My hubby & I have been amateur computer users for around 25 years. I started with the commodore 64 & my hubby started with the DickSmith computer, I think. We both got internet computers around the same time, (we hadn't met then) that ran on the Windows operating system. About 9 years ago we changed to Apple, much less problem then the Windows system, but the last 2 Apple upgrades have not been up to Apple standards we have heard.
Just to let anyone interested know, my hubby & I met on the net, 19 years ago now.
