Hey guys,
looks like my piece of shit dm500s has shit its self. I had it working on the weekend for select tv and now i can not lock into any signal, not even the more powerful c1.
i have tried my other box (strong) and it can pick up select/fox.
i have reflash the dm500 with different images, and its all the same. Has anyone got any ideas?
All my settings for lnb are correct etc etc.
Look Here -> |
yeah did all that, still nothing. quality is always sitting on 75%
doesn't sound good, hope you were not doing all this re-flashing without earthing the box or having the LNB cable disconnected at least.
OK, is the LNB cable connected to the IN connection, I'm not being rude, but quite often these problems are something simple, ok, please calmly re check the settings, is the LNB power on ?? just one more time, make sure you reboot.
If it is stuffed well it is, but don't go into 'meltdown' mode just yet, most people that have played with these boxes have got the s*&ts with them from time to time..............I have even put a 7000-S in my Wheely Bin, only to get the thing out again the next morning, have one more go, and got it working again.
yeah lnb power is on, all the settings are good. i even had the box powered off for couple of hours.
its funny, thought when i put the frequencies in they start at 75% quality, no lock, then it drops and stays at 50%.
ok, is it a clone ?? have a look on the back does the LNB connections have lock nuts on them ?? is there a small hole between the two connection or a screw ?? IF there is no lock nuts on the connections, and IF there is a hole between the two connectors that looks like it should have a screw in it but doesn't you could try, and this is at your own risk, OK, put one of the cover screws in that hole and do it up just tight.............
yeah did that, voltages are fine, even when connected to the lnb.
weird....but anyway i sent the box back to get another one i guess.
just out of curiosity, are these dm500s boxes prone to freezing up here and there. ever i since i had the box, i had it freeeze up a a dozen or so times,
especially when it boots up or when i was viewing my select tv sub with s-cam
is earthing that important? wouldnt just having the lnb unplugged be enough?
also what would i be earthing to?
Its not sitting on something hot is it, like another receiver? Freezing can be caused by overheating.
nah mate. sitting by itself, i even turned on the air condition to the max. didnt fix anything.
As a last resort, load the original REL08 Factory Image in the DM500s and see if it will kick it in, some clones need a complete reflash/reset to get working again, (dont ask me why as I have no idea) it just wqorked for me on a couple of clones. aloso make sure 24khz Tone is set to hi/lo in the LNB setup.
Good Luck.
did anyone figure a fix for this? I have 4 clones (2 months old) from fernbay and 1 has started to exhibit this problem. I have tried everything stated in this thread and still no luck..
Any other suggestions?
Is your suspect one connected directly to an LNB? I also have one that drops its voltage to between 2.2 and 3v if going via my multiswitch. But works OK if wired directly to the LNB. The wiring and multiswitch have been verified with functional other units. Its going back for an exchange.
yep all four going to a quad LNB.. I plugged one of the other three into the same outlet and it works perfectly
Time for sellers of DM500s clones to bundle mandatory earthing kits.
all points are earthed too dont worry bout that
