    Default Trump V Kim

What an amazing turn of events. Trump and Kim shaking hands and having talks.

The fact that this event is even happening is incredible really (Edit : Added a Poll to see what peoples thoughts of success are)

If it gets physical, my moneys on Trump (before a North Korean spy hits him with a lethal blow dart)

I hope Trump gives him a (western) suit as a gift. Kim doesn't have a lot of variety in his wardrobe.

I voted yes. Whatever you think of Trump, it is about time a Western leader showed some strength. Kim must have been amazed when the usual posturing was met with the talks being called off. Following which the nonsense ceased. Kim needs these talks to succeed, and Trump wants them to. Whether any accommodation reached will last, who knows. If North Korea does not adhere to any commitment it makes, I don't expect Trump will hesitate to call it out. Maybe Kim is bargaining on the US reverting to its normal strategy of appeasement after the next election.

    I also voted yes....tentatively.

I think its taken an oddball like Trump to change a few things. The G7 photos were hilarious, he obviously doesn't get along with the lefties such as Trudeau. Would love to have been a fly on the wall.

One thing he has shown is that he isnt scared of public opinion and has his own set agenda of getting things done. Realistically he has achieved more so far than what Obama did in 2 terms. Obama got the Nobel peace prize in 2009 for "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples".

Now realistically, if Trump pulls this off, shouldn't he get the same ? Of course he wont though.

    Credit where it's due..... it's a start.

Both are known to back out of agreements.

In regard to human rights... it is akin to a US president befriending Hitler, whilst the slaughter continues.

Latest via news.com.au (so take it for what it is, though realistically if they claim someone said something its likely)

Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un have sat down and signed an official letter together.

While the details are yet to be specified, they said it “worked out better than anyone could have predicted”, adding that “the world will see a major change” from it.

“We are signing a very important document, a pretty comprehensive document, and we have had a really great term together, a great relationship,” Mr Trump said before signing it.

He added that a lot of “goodwill” and “preparation” went into the letter.

“We’re going to take care of a very big and very dangerous problem for the world,” the US President said.

“It actually worked out far better for both of us than anyone would have predicted. This is going to lead to more and more and more... and it’s an honour to be with you.”

“We are going to leave the past behind. The world will see major change,” added Mr Kim.

More details are expected to be announced when Mr Trump addresses the media later this evening.

It seems things are progressing as per the above.

    Unbelievable.

Where is De Niro now with his mouth ?

Actors as a general rule and especially De Niro should stick to acting. Trump did back out of ridiculous commitments relating to Global Warming which penalised the United States whilst having a negligible effect on the problem. Not in the same league as Kim when it comes to breaking agreements. As to the inevitable reference to Hitler, one would hope that North Korea joining the rest of the world will ultimately benefit its people. Kim becoming more engaged with the US and the rest of the World may not ultimately lead to greater respect for human rights in that country, but it is certainly a step in the right direction.

Its not that long ago that everyone thought that Dennis Rodham was a nickle plated Nitwit going to North Korea and engaging in talks with Kim Jung-on about East meeting West, BUT its HAPPENED !!
That it had to be someone like Trump, who may go down in History if these meetings, achieve ANYTHING at all, is astounding.
I am not going to make any forecasts as there are too many variables to be considered but at least like the 'stepping' across the Border between North and South Korea by the two leaders has to be taken as a good sign.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

No, that assessment was correct, Dennis Rodham IS a nickel plated fvcktard.
Dennis Rodham is Uncle Sam's response to Anthony Mundine.

The correct political term is "A useful idiot" and this is no different to the communist sympathisers from the post WWII era.

Nice and glossy aint it? amazing how good things look when media is involved. Our earth is becoming too small for us, global population is increasing at an alarming rate and we are in danger of self-destructing… I would not be optimistic about the long-term outlook for our species.

Looks like Dennis has been smoking the flavoraid.
Thought I'd take a look at the url on his T-shirt.

Got that f#cking right Rick, the place is going to Hell in a handbag at a rapid clip.

But on a more serious note, how’s our escape plan coming along, I haven’t seen much development on our rocket in your backyard???

That's a great attitude to have about the situation. How would you handle the situation with North Korea in Trumps shoes?

    No disrespect

Comparing Kim Jong Un to Hitler, not even close.

Kim did not invade the world or committed mass genocide. The only people he harmed were (mostly) his own.

He felt threatend by the the USA, that was all. He was born into that thinking and behaviour but then suddenly something dawned to him.

I have trust that the deal will go ahead if it were solely up to him. He has to first convince his people, who were also born into this thinking.
They don't even really know about this, according to news reports.

I reckon Kim changed his mind because he opened his eyes and saw other countries around him prospering while his country went down the toilet.

You're all over complicating the situation.....it's simple really....

The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.
