I’ve found its signal in Melbourne using 1.2m dish and Strong SRT4653X receiver. The box shos 82% strength, and it’s still FTA.

I think cairns is just out of the footprint ......................can't get my signal above 90% ....... No quality to speak of .........20%
The LBF/ Canal Satellite signal is boresighted over New Caledonia.
80 cm dishes used here in Vanuatu with little rainfade. A 60 cm works too.
Cairns is physically even closer than Sydney, Melbourne etc.
Not sure of the beam shape pattern though - might have a hole in it where Cairns is.
Also 11174 is not an LBF freq but is the same strength as LBF here.

XXL was a better channel, and you only need a small bit to get XXL in the old days.

Cairns is on the edge of the footprint you would need at least a 1.5m dish.

Am using a 1.5m dish.........I might have another go on the week end though. I checked on lyngsat and satcodx, i am boarderline in the footprint. I believe the signal will carry further but i think i need a bigger dish maybe. As i can get a pinpoint hotspot for signal that is in the position just no quality.......all good though will try some different things.
