Think i read 1.5gb ?
An article credited to a Sophie Elsworth in Monday's Sydney Daily Telegraph says that 'Unlimited mobile data plans not for everyone'.
I cant type it all due to a bit of a vision problem at the moment but in part of the article, she says that for Vodaphone customers the Unlimited deals starts at $60 a Month but once 30GB has been used, Internet Speed slows down, for Telsta customers at $69 a month , this happens after 40GB has been used. In neither case is the speed is the reduced speed given.

The telcos have all been clear in their CIS documents that while the data amount may be unlimited, the speed of that data is not unlimited.
As mentioned in other posts, they all still list the data they offer at full speed, then anything after that is limited by all telcos to a max speed of 1.5Mbps.
While 1.5Mbps may technically be good enough for SD video, all these new ‘unlimited’ plans will really do is stop bill shock.
Each 'plan' I have been on I have selected the fixed term data and once that was used, the speed dropped so dramatically it was barely fast enough to open a Browser let alone.
I chose that type of plan because it incurred no charges once I passed the monthly limit.
I did 'go over' by a few hundred Megabytes, like under 500 a couple of times but it was so slow, it was not something you would do willingly.
Like most I presumed that the term 'Unlimited' was just that and not thinking that the download speed could be used as a volume limiting factor.
The Satellite plan I am on now offers 35GB an Month and clearly states once I exceed that amount, it will be slowed down so why dont the other types of Internet services advertise the same instead of this misleading 'Unlimited' claim?

Reading the 'Fine Print' is one thing, its interpreting what it actually means is where many problems lie.

Data shaping has been around since ADSL was the new kid on the block. You exceed your limit, you get slowed, or you pay for a top up. Nothing really new here. It's only because many have grown used to "high" speed internet that 1.5Mbs seems slow, how many of you remember the days when 14.4Kbs was a blazing speed?
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
