Default Kogan 55" Smart HDR 4K LED TV (Series 8 MU8010)

I wanted to get a bigger set and reluctantly will sell the 46" LED 3D Kogan TV I have had now for close on eight years. The fact that it has never had a single fault and the picture quality is still brilliant made the decision to go with another Kogan easy.

Cannot wait for this new set to ship middle week in September and will report on it once set up.

    Some details...

Delivering true-to-reality 4K picture on a stunning LG Panel, enhanced HDR and streaming support for Netflix and Youtube, prepare for an immersive and astonishingly vivid viewing experience on this elegant Smart TV.

    4K Ultra HD 3840 × 2160 resolution at 60Hz
High Dynamic Range (HDR) for a viewing experience that is incredibly real
Easy access buttons for Netflix and YouTube
Freeview Plus (ABC iview, SBS On Demand, 7Plus, 9Now, tenplay)
Screen mirroring for Android and Windows 10 devices
Rapid 9ms response times so every frame renders in perfect clarity
    Quality LG panel
    Linux Operating System
    Wi-Fi and LAN connectivity
    2 x USB and 3 x HDMI

Great you found your Kogan 55" fantastic pic quality.

    I bought an ALDI 55" I'd say 4 years ago, maybe 5.

Screen was bright, over saturated with colour and picture quality was like a watching TV made out of LEGO.

Sold it to a friend, it died in under 12months.

Look forward to your findings with the Kogan 4K.

8 years old, useless 3D option and now with Foxtel introducing 4k doesnt make your old set very desirable.
Because of the changes to the regulations regarding the sale of 2nd hand electrical appliances in NSW, you cant even give these items away to any of the Charities now.

We certainly won't miss its 3D feature. That novelty didn't last too long. There were only so many times we could bore friends with fish swimming across the lounge and dolphins leaping out of the screen. Movies (3D)were either crap or very expensive.

Not having or planning to have Foxtel made 4K useless to us with the 3D set. Having easy access to ABC iview, SBS on Demand and hundreds of hours backed up on Topfield PVR beats paying for ads with Foxtel. Won't miss trying to avoid the HDMI cable from laptop in front of me.

Have been offered money for the old but reliable Kogan set.

Printed off the new sets manual yesterday and cannot wait for its arrival.

    Manual...

It was/is a 46" 3D LED. PQ was always good through the Topfield PVR and the TV was okay but due to hardly ever using it without the PVRs tuners we never fine tuned it.

Should of tried warranty claim. Even four years maybe claimable. Especially with Aldi.

Shall be as accurate as I can see it. Plus ignoring all those Big Brand junkies that love to rubbish Kogan and can't get enough of their Sammies etc. (and big dollars)

Yep I am biased but after 8 years of Kogan TVs I speak from the heart. Also at one stage I bought a 21" LED with inbuilt DVD. It was okay but never used it so mate's GF got it and still loves it.

It is likely you will come across more 4K footage streaming off the internet than FTA or Sub TV.

Probably so but it will take forever with our NBN connection.

Although one possible use could be the 4K Aldi Gopro type camera I bought to use on recent trip to Vietnam.
Had it set to 4K but lowered the resolution for the trip and storage. May have a play with that but again like the 3D a temporary play with.

Our 50 inch Aldi is pushing 5 or more years of age now and except when it got zapped by a power surge (repaired under warranty) its still seems to be going as good as ever.

Ditto with my Kogan 3D 46" 3D LED TV. Picture quality is still good after seven years and being used everyday it scares me to loose it on the new 55" unknown one.
    .
Unfortunately it must go as nowhere else to store/use it. Better I stick to my motto...

If One Builds Too Many Fences Against Life
One Risks Fencing out Life itself

Roll on new Kogan 55" Smart 4K TV

Is Ultra HD and 4K one and the same thing as I have seen ads from a retailer selling a XX size Ultra HD for
    over $4000 !!!!

My Daughter bought a Kogan recently to replace their LG that died (55inch I think) and she seems very happy with it.

At least its got what I want already on board.

Never miss your favourite free-to-air TV shows again with Freeview Plus. Catching up is as easy as going into the Freeview Plus program guide to find available shows, or selecting from any of the available network services, including SBS On Demand, ABCiview, 7plus, 9Now and tenplay.

What other streaming apps come to mind?

Pardon my Smart TV ignorance. Your advice is much appreciated.

I ended up buying the mate this one today. Using the code it came to under $320 delivered next week.

Kogan 32” Smart LED TV. The perfect size for a bedroom or den, you can access Netflix and YouTube or your favourite Freeview Plus services all from the one TV.

Easy access buttons for Netflix and Youtube
Freeview Plus (ABC iview, SBS On Demand, 7Plus, 9Now, tenplay)
Screen mirroring for Android and Windows 10 devices
    Linux Operating System
    Wi-Fi and LAN connectivity
    HDMI and USB input

Reason being as it is for his teenage God son and will be installed within the week. If NBN can fix their stuff up with his new connection. It took the pricks 6 months without phone or internet to get ours up and running. And that took the ombudsman's interference to get any action. Long story but enough for now.
