    Default DM500 external phoenix....again

Unmodified Jaycar MKII in phoenix mode @ 3.57MHz.

No problems reading an n_s cards using newcs + XP and CCcam as the clients on the DM500.

Using CCcam or newcs I can read the card in /dev/sci0 on a DM500, but it gets too warm for my liking so I want to use an external reader.

What I cannot do is read the card from the phoenix in the serial port of the DM500 using newcs or CCcam.

So, does anyone have an unmodified Jaycar MKII hanging off a DM500 (Gemini 4.1) serial port that can read an n_s card using newcs or CCcam?

    Thanks

Yeah I have 6 of them.

they are $50 to buy in kit form.

    Not quite what I meant.

Can anyone manage to read an n_s card using an unmodified J-MKII hanging off a DM500 serial port?

My unmodified J-MKII work's fine with NDS, Irdeto 2 & whitey.

Maybe your config file is not setup right, what error messages do you get in your log?

The card detect parameter in newcs xml file would be a good starting point.

    OK

My unmodifed J-MKII works fine reading n_s card using:

    XP PC + NewCS
    Linux PC + NewCS

and these combos read the card fine:

    DM500 NewCS /dev/sci0
    DM500 CCcam /dev/sci0

But I am having issues with DM500 + J-MKII + serial port using either NewCS or CCcam as the card reader.

I will play some more when I get some time.

    Thanks for the replies.
